In response to the current public health emergency and need to protect the health and safety of the public and Village officials, the Village will hold all public meetings virtually in accordance with the Governor's Executive Order 2020-01D. 

The general public may access any public meeting of the Village by using the proper protocol.   

Below are instructions and guidelines for Zoom videoconferencing(phone in option is available through Zoom also).

Village Income Tax Information


The deadline for filing your 2019 Plain City income tax returns has been extended to July 15, 2020.  The deadline for any payments due with those returns has also been extended to July 15, 2020.   The first and second quarterly estimate payments normally scheduled for April 15 and June 15 for most taxpayers, have both been extended to July 15.

Building Department Transition

Building permits will now  be issued by the

Village of West Jefferson Building Dept.

The office is located at  28 East Main Street

 West Jefferson, Ohio

Office hours: 7:30am-12pm  1-4:00pm Mon-Fri

NEW App Release for

Village of Plain City!


The Village of Plain City is pleased to announce the release of a FREE mobile App that will provide the community with the most accurate and timely information concerning the Village and issues around the Village.  

The app is  FREE to download through your app store- simply search for: Village of Plain City.

One valuable feature is Push Notifications. Users can enable or disable notifications individually.  

The Village will use this feature for alerts and announcements.   

As the Village strives to improve customer service, we believe that this app will assist  residents with access to pertinent information and help increase ease of communication.

All Village Council meetings are held on the

second and fourth Mondays of each month

and are open to the public.

Council Work Sessions are  held the

second Wednesday of each month, but subject to change.
