Solicitation Laws
The Plain City Village Council and Police Department have collaborated to update and strengthen solicitation laws. Any person who wishes to engage in commercial door-to-door solicitation or mobile vending must apply for and be issued a solicitor’s permit by the Police Department. There is an application fee of $50, which is non-refundable/non-transferrable. Solicitation is permitted only from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM, Monday through Saturday, excluding federal holidays. This ordinance also creates a No Knock Registry that enables residents to register their addresses annually to reduce unwanted solicitations. Solicitors must download the current No Knock List prior to the start of each business day and are prohibited from contacting anyone on that list. Applications, Issued Permits, the No Knock Registry/List, and the Solicitor's Ordinance can be found by visiting the Forms page.

Personal Inventory Service
Residents, please consider using our FREE Personal Inventory Service! This service may assist the Police Department in solving a theft crime involving your property.

Severe Weather ReminderWith severe weather season underway, this is a great time to register to receive severe weather alerts from Nixle 360.  We have partnered with the Union County EMA and the Union County Sheriff’s Office to provide this service to all village residents. Please take this opportunity to register to receive these warnings in order to stay informed about impending severe weather and to help keep your family safe.
