OEPA Public Hearing Regarding RANCO Property

The Ohio EPA is hosting a public meeting on Tuesday, April 23 at 6:00 PM at the Plain City Municipal Building regarding corrective actions outlined in a Statement of Basis for the former RANCO facility near Plain City. The Statement of Basis describes the process Ohio EPA uses under the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) to select measures for containing or cleaning up a hazardous waste management facility. As part of this process, the Ohio EPA is seeking community review and comments on this document. The Ohio EPA has concluded that no further corrective action is required at the facility beyond an Environmental Covenant and Site Governance Plan. The plan will require the implementation of soil management, operations and maintenance, and groundwater monitoring plans at the site.
