Trash and Recycling
The following village services are provided throughout the year to residents of the village.
Trash Collection: Thursday’s beginning at 7:00 a.m.
The Village of Plain City’s waste hauler is Local Waste Services. They provide for separate curbside collections of refuse, recycling, and yard waste.
Refuse, recycling, and yard waste will be collected by three separate trucks each Thursday. Residents will be required to have all their refuse,recycling and yard waste at the curb by 7:0am each week. Residents can call Local Waste with any inquiries or concerns regarding service at 614-409-9375.
Weekly curbside collection of recyclables separate from refuse and yard waste collection will be provided. All recyclables may be comingled in your recycling bin for collection. Recycling bins are available at the Water Office for new residents. Additional bins may be purchased for $5.00 each at the Water Office.
Brush & Leaf Disposal
All of the debris will need to be transported to Kurtz Bros Inc. located at 6279 County Highway 159 (Houchard Road), or you may use Local Waste Services (see below). Arrangements have been made with Kurtz Bros for Village residents to haul brush, tree limbs, natural wood products, etc. (no grass or stone products). You will need to pull through the scales to be weighed, unload your own materials, and follow the Kurtz Bros yard rules. However, there will be no charge for the drop off.
You may also put yard waste, brush and limbs out with your trash for pick up by Local Waste Services as long as you follow their guidelines (listed below):
Grass, leaves, etc. must be placed in either a biodegradable paper “Yard Waste” bag or trash can designated to “Yard Waste Only” and must not exceed 50 pounds.
ALL brush/limbs must be bundled with twine or string in 4’ sections and must not exceed 24” in diameter.
The village also provides the following services: Street Sweeping, Mosquito Fogging and Snow Removal.
