Kids Driving you crazy during COVID-19?
A few ideas to make life better by being outside and enjoying nature,  all with safe distancing........ 
  Pastime Park/Outdoor activities
  • Take a walk with your kids, dog, etc... Just be sure to keep 6 ft away from others when outside
  • Take a walk and ID birds by sight and song - simply download the Audobon App   CLICK HERE
  • GO FISH!  Did you know you can fish at McKitrick Park?  Dig up some worms and your old rods and have fun!
  • Play Disc Golf - Pastime Park has a 9 hole course, and many other other parks around Columbus also have courses. For a complete list of Ohio courses please  CLICK HERE
  • Geocaching -  Pastime Park doesn't have this but many places do.  Learn a fun new family activity!  CLICK HERE
  • Take a nature walk at local parks- find pine cones, dried flowers and other treasures
  • Paint rocks!  Pastime Park would love to start a rock painting brigade!  All rocks and designs welcome!  Let others see your creativity and create a community movement!

 Playgrounds at Pastime Park - CLOSED

Due to the Governor's mandate - all park playground equipment will be CLOSED until further notice. 

Pastime Park is still available for walking, jogging and outdoor use, as long as the 6ft social distancing guidelines are used.

     Rentable Facilities - Fee based   

Youth Building      

Perfect for birthday parties, graduation parties and family reunions

  • $ 75/day plus  $100 refundable deposit

  • 2 indoor restrooms

  • Refrigerator

  • Stage

  • 18 tables(8ft in length) and 95 chairs

  • Heated but not air conditioned


For rental of the Youth Building, the key must

be picked up the Friday before  your event

between the hours of 8am and 4pm  at the

Water Department Office,  located at

213 S. Chillicothe Street.

  • Whole Park rental

    • $650/day or $337/day multi day rental  -  $500 refundable deposit

  • Partial Park rental 

    • Area A- $150/day - $200 deposit​

    • Area B- $200/day - $200 deposit

                  Plain City Parks

Pastime Park

There are 2 parks in Plain City: Pastime Park and McKitrick Park.  Pastime Park  is a popular destination throughout the year.  Nestled among beautiful oak trees (many  over 200 years old), Pastime Park provides a very peaceful and tranquil setting, drawing visitors from all over the United States. 


The park offers a 60 site campground, a 1/2 mile walking trail, a professional disc golf course,  4 sand volleyball courts, a basketball court, aquatic center and several rentable facilities. 

McKitrick Park

McKitrick Park is a beautiful 5.18 acre park, located along the Big Darby, on East Main Street, just east of Uptown Plain City.  There is parking and public access for fishing or kayaking/canoeing.  McKitrick is a great place to spend time enjoying a picnic, fishing, or just relaxing in the beauty of its natural surroundings.  For more information on McKitrick Park, Click HERE.
