POLICE EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES

JOB ANNOUNCEMENT- The Plain City Police Department is now hiring a part-time (potential for full-time -- see below) administrative assistant. The position currently has a maximum of 29 hours per week and has a salary range of $12-$14.43 per hour. While there are no medical benefits, this position is subject to the Ohio Public Employees Retirement System (OPERS). We expect the working hours for this position to be between 9AM and 3PM, which may make it perfect for parents of school-aged children.

This position has the potential of becoming a full-time position in 2018, which will be 40 hours per week (No Overtime) at $16 per hour, with full benefits, including health and dental insurance, paid holidays, and vacation.

This position will be subject to an extensive background investigation, including a polygraph examination. The applicant for this position should have superior written and verbal communication skills, should be able to multi-task, should have a good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Access, Excel, and Powerpoint, should be technology friendly, and should have good and cheerful personality as the assistant will be the first point of contact for many people who contact us. This position will answer phones and greet citizens who come to the police department for assistance, assist officers in making copies of cases, fulfilling records requests, working with the courts and prosecutor's offices to ensure timely filing of paperwork, perform local background checks, assist with Solicitor Applications, etc. A complete list of duties and responsibilities will be provided at the time of application or at the time of hire. This position will demand complete confidentiality of department business and this position must be able to work with minimal supervision. This position will be subject to regular evaluations and must meet the high expectations we have for all of our employees.
