Requirements for the Plain City Police Officers:

Minimum 21 years of age
-
Completion of Ohio Peace Officer Training Commission approved Academy and all training programs by State Statue for appointment as a Peace Officer
-
Must have high school diploma or G.E.D.
-
Must never have been convicted of a felony, or serious misdemeanor
-
Be of good character and possess good judgment, tact and initiative
-
No visible tattoos, hair groomed (quasi military), no beards or goatees
-
No piercings on males, females may have ears pierced
-
Have a valid Ohio Drivers License with no more than 4 current points and no OVI or OMVUAC convictions, and valid car insurance
-
Pass a background investigation
-
Pass an Oral Board/Panel review
-
Pass the Plain City Police Physical Agility Course
-
Pass medical examination not more than 60 days prior to receiving such appointment, a physical examination given by a licensed physician showing that he/she meets the physical requirements to perform the duties of the position

Pass OP&FPF Medical Assessment for Full-Time

Continued completion of, and maintaining of all certifications and training as required by the State of Ohio and Plain City Police Department

Purchase own uniform (upon appointment)

Part-Time Officers receive a $200 Annual Uniform Allowance
-
Full-Time Officers receive a $700 Annual Uniform Allowance
