Curbside Chipper & Brush Pick-up
The Village of Plain City helps residents dispose of tree and shrub trimmings. This service occurs twice a year, usually in May and September, and is subject to the following established regulations:
CURBSIDE CHIPPER SERVICE

- Tree and shrub trimmings only. NO VINES. Trimmings which include vines will not be picked up.
- Roots must be cut off of any trees or bushes and processed through other composting programs. Tree and bush roots cannot go through the chipping machine.
- No FIREWOOD, lumber, boards, wire or other debris.
- All trimmings must be piled within 4 feet of the curb or at the end of the driveway. Trimming piles should be piled neatly with the cutoff ends pointing toward the street. Village equipment and employees will not come on private property to remove trimmings.
- Trimmings should not be piled near mailboxes, fire hydrants or parked cars. Trimmings deemed too close to parked cars will not be picked up.
- The machine will accept branches with a maximum diameter of 4 inches.
- There is no maximum length for trimmings. The longer they are, the easier it is for the Village crews to remove them; therefore, trimmings should be at least 4 feet in length.
- Trimming pick up will be limited to one truck load per day per residence. Residents with excessive amounts of trimmings should make other arrangements.
- Village employees will not leave mulch at residences.
BRUSH PICK-UP
Aside from refuse and recycling collection, Waste Management also offers yard waste pick-up each Thursday. Since all yard waste will be composted, please follow these requirements:
- Grass, leaves, etc. must be placed in either a biodegradable paper “Yard Waste” bag or trash can designated “Yard Waste Only,” and must not exceed 50 pounds in weight.
- Branches must be bundled with twine or string and must not exceed 5 inches in length or 24 inches in diameter.
