Although the Pastime Pool was closed two years ago due to the need for extensive repairs, Plain City residents have a new $2.1 million dollar pool to look forward to in 2012. Being built at the existing site of the Pastime Pool, the new pool facility will be built by Thomas & Marker Construction and Patterson Pools. Construction already started with a groundbreaking ceremony on September 19, 2011, in hopes that the scheduled Grand Opening for the new pool will be on Memorial Day 2012. The pool will have exciting features such as a zero depth entry area, diving board, spray ground area, and water slide.
