The Planning & Zoning (P&Z) Commission is a board that exists to oversee planning and zoning as it relates to development and growth.  The Ohio Revised Code (ORC) sets forth the guidelines for this board in statute (Chapter 713).

The statute specifically states that "the legislative authority of each city...may establish a commission of five members, consisting of the mayor, the director of public service, and three citizens of the municipal corporation who shall serve without compensation and shall be appointed by the mayor for a term of six years, except that the term of one of the members of the first commission shall be for four years and one for two years."

The Commission meets at 7:00pm in Council Chambers at 213 South Chillicothe Street, on the third Wednesday of each month.  The general public is welcome to attend these meetings.
