If you're a biking enthusiast, the nearby Heritage Trail will surely delight you.
Activity Spaces
Within Pastime Park, visitors can enjoy a meticulously crafted 9-hole Disc Golf Course. This professionally designed course winds its way through approximately 8 acres of scenic terrain adorned with majestic mature trees and expansive open green spaces. Offering a delightful experience for players of varying skill levels, from beginners to those seeking moderate challenges, the course has become a favorite among disc golf enthusiasts. Convenient parking is available at the park entrance, and scorecards can be obtained at the Park Office. The course is open to the public free of charge, from 7:00 AM to 9:00 PM during the summer months and from 7:00 AM until sunset in the winter season.

Experience the thrill of sand volleyball at the conveniently situated courts just west of the Aquatic Center in Pastime Park. The courts are open to the public free of charge. To guarantee availability and secure your spot, reservations are suggested. For those interested in reserving the courts for exclusive use, a fee of $25 per court per hour applies. Aquatic Center
The Plain City Aquatic Center, opened in 2012, caters to individuals of all ages, ensuring there's something for everyone in the family to enjoy! The pool boasts zero-depth entry areas, a splash pad, a kiddie play area, a diving board, and an exciting twisty tube water slide. Parks
Nestled at the crossroads of Main and South Chillicothe Streets in Uptown Plain City, Bicentennial Park stands as a local landmark. Established in 1976 to commemorate our nation's bicentennial, this park has played host to numerous events throughout the years. Presently, it accommodates the Plain City Farmers Market, offering a delightful array of local produce and artisan goods. Come December, Bicentennial Park transforms into a magical wonderland as it becomes the backdrop for Christmas Under the Clock and Plain City's magnificent live Christmas tree.
The Village has recently received a generous land donation from developer M/I Homes. With nearly 28 acres of land adjacent to the picturesque Big Darby Creek. Recognizing the significance of the Big Darby's natural assets, this property will be maintained as a nature preserve. Development of amenities within the park will be limited to promote the Village's commitment to environmental stewardship.
Plans are underway for a new dog park on Jackson Street. Currently in the design phase, the park will cater to both large and small dogs, providing secure areas for them to roam and play freely. Owners can look forward to watching their furry friends navigate through fun obstacles and enjoy the company of fellow dog enthusiasts. Additionally, the park will include convenient drinking fountains and shade trees to ensure our four-legged companions stay hydrated during their playful adventures. Construction is expected to begin in late 2023.
Through a partnership with developer D.R. Horton, an expansive 11-acre park will soon be constructed in Madison Meadows. Designed with community needs in mind, this park will feature a picnic shelter complete with convenient restrooms, walking paths, a dedicated parking area for visitors, and future athletic fields and courts. The park is anticipated to open in 2024.
McKitrick Park, a picturesque 5.18-acre park, can be found along the banks of the Big Darby Creek on East Main Street/OH-161, just east of the Uptown District. Offering parking and public access, visitors can indulge in fishing or partake in kayaking/canoeing adventures. McKitrick Park is an ideal destination for a relaxing picnic, fishing excursion, or simply basking in the natural splendor of its surroundings. Please note that overnight camping is not permitted in McKitrick Park. We kindly request visitors to help preserve the park's beauty by appropriately disposing of all garbage.
Pastime Park is a cherished landmark that draws visitors year-round with its timeless appeal. Sat among magnificent oak trees, some of which have stood tall for over two centuries, the park offers serenity and tranquility that captivates individuals from across the United States. Its enduring popularity can be attributed to the many amenities it offers, including shelters, a disc golf course, sand volleyball courts, basketball courts, a pickleball court, a scenic walking trail, and well-maintained baseball fields for organized games. Additionally, the park boasts a rentable community center, providing a versatile space for various events and functions. Loved by all, Pastime Park continues to be a cherished destination that brings the community together.
Pastime Campground is a popular destination for locals and visitors alike. This Village-owned campground offers a range of site options to accommodate different preferences, including full hookup sites, gravel water/electric sites, water/electric grass sites, and primitive tent sites. Campers have access to restroom facilities, a shower facility, playgrounds, and the pleasure of basking in the shade of large trees. Trails
The Heritage Trail is part of the Rails–to-Trails Conservancy. Running from Hilliard to just southeast of Plain City, the Heritage Trail is a 6.1 mile paved trail perfect for walking, running, biking, or inline skating. It also parallels a 4-mile horse riding trail.
